Dr. Jonathan Kam is a urologist renowned for his comprehensive training, innovative research, and dedication to patient care. He completed his medical degree at the University of New South Wales in 2013, graduating with distinction. During his studies, he was one of two recipients of the Scientia Scholarship and was honoured with the UNSW Medicine Foundation Year Graduates Medal and the Dean’s List Award for outstanding research and teaching. Following his graduation, Dr. Kam undertook specialist training through the Urological Society of Australia and New Zealand (USANZ) in New South Wales. During his training he was awarded the Board of Urology Frank Gardiner award for achieving the highest mark in the SET Specialty Specific Written examination in 2018, the Chris Farrell Prize for best registrar research presentation in 2019 and the George Schnitzler award for the best NSW urology registrar in 2021.
He further enhanced his expertise with a Royal College of Surgeons (RCS) Senior Clinical Fellowship at the renowned Guys Hospital, London, focusing on learning cutting edge techniques and the management of complex urological cancers. In his academic roles, Dr. Kam is currently a Senior Clinical lecturer at the University of Sydney. His previous academic roles included Conjoint Fellow at the University of Newcastle and Academic at the University of NSW and Research Fellow with the University of Sydney.
Dr. Kam’s research contributions are significant, with publications in esteemed journals such as the British Journal of Urology International and the International Journal of Urology. He has authored over 50 book chapters, peer-reviewed articles, and case reports, and has delivered more than 100 presentations at state, national, and international conferences.
